The Louisiana Housing Lab works with low and moderate income residents of Jefferson Davis Parish to increase the amount of and accessibility to affordable housing in many ways:
1. In developing, constructing, rehabilitating, managing or otherwise making such housing available
2. By promoting, where practical and appropriate, the principles of density, mixed-income, and energy efficient design and construction
3. Through the creation of learning opportunities for students, including but not limited to, University of Louisiana at Lafayette architecture students in this development activity by,
a. Providing innovative and cost effective solutions for the character and efficiency of affordable housing and construction
b. By identifying funding and other support
c. Encouraging research, both applied and through study, that promotes the missions of the Lab and the civic development of the municipalities within which it works.
